Class Description:
Focuses on recent avant-garde film movements and their relation to punk philosophy and aesthetics. Also discusses punk cinema's influences from Soviet montage to punksploitation.

Workload:
Your average amount of reading, although about super interesting stuff. As far as essays go, there will be two 1 page reflections, a 3-5 page essay (analyzing the influences of punk cinema) and a 6-8 page essay on a topic of your choice that relates to the class (and is approved by me).


News:
4/4/08 - Class has begun! Everyone who should be in is in. The reader is available in its entirety on WebCT. I've posted links to the Joan of Arc article and the review of Desparate Teenage Lovedolls. I've also posted a copy of the first essay assignment.
3/10/08 - Added Vivenne Westwood's open t-shirt to Derek Jarman. Sent the reader in to the bookstore to get printed.
3/9/08 - Updated the syllabus, add a links to the Situationist Manifesto and the Dogma 95 Vow of chastity.
2/16/08 - The website is up and running, I added a bunch of stuff to the Facebook group. The syllabus is online now too!

I'm not going to post everything from the reader or textbooks on here, but I will post some extra recommended reading and some interesting images.
